libxy3 software package provides Library for reading x-y data from several file formats, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libxy3
libxy3 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libxy3 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libxy3 *
You will get with libxy3 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
